Antoinette has over 30 years of dance experience in several genres of dance including, Ballet, Tap, Pointe, Dunham Technique, African, and Acrobatics. She began teaching dance when she was only 15 years old. Since then, she has continued to teach dance classes and choreograph dances for youth programs, schools, and several church dance ministries. Antoinette holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Roosevelt University and continues to encourage and educate youth on the importance of higher education, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship.
When she’s not in the studio or working on one of her businesses, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, volunteering her time in the community, and spending time with other organizations of which is a member.

JaKayla Wells

Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop Instructor

Jakayla has been dancing since the age of 5. Her start began at her home dance company, Dance Expressions, which she was under the direction of Gordette ”Sloopy” Brent. Although not in existence anymore, she still holds her training from D.E. in Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop. She continued her training with a dance minor at Columbia College Chicago with training in Ballet, West African, and Modern just to name a few.

She has always had a huge passion for Hip Hop but really discovered it as her forte in her teenage years. She has choreographed so far for local talent, church, and school performances. She has also taught at The American Rhythm Center and was an assistant teacher at Hubbard Street Dance Theatre. She has plans to choreograph for famous artists, have her own youth center, and be a touring dancer one day. She is happy to now be joining the Ivy Hue Dance family!
